If you have found yourself here on our blog, we suspect that you are familiar with the work of Master hand engraver
John Franciscus. His graver has brought life to silver, pewter, and gold. Engraving is a beautiful world that is primarily monochromatic. What even some of John's most ardent fans do not know is that he is an accomplished oil painter with an extraordinary command of color... brilliant contrasts of light and dark, bright and pure pigments versus muted and subdued. 

His brushwork on the canvas is just as inspired as his graver on noble metals.
